Empathy Opens the Doors

As the title of our third project can mean various thing, we focus on the reducing bullying in our social surroundings through finding working solutions for that problem. That is why the group of Georgia, Portugal & Hungary has joined us here in the Caribbean to handle this serious topic. For this project we wanted everyone to feel inclusive, integrated and heard!

For this project, culture also plays a big role because having Empathy can mean different things for different countries. We all come from different backgrounds, where our past defines our future and who we are right now-not only as a country, but also as the people we are. Empathy comes in all sort of shape and form and by coming together we can become stronger, understand and learn.

P!NK EVENT; was also a big part of the project, this is an anti-bullying event held during the second week of April. During this day, you are supposed to wear pink to work or school.

On the 13th of November, the participants made groups and work stations and kids from The Smart Kids Club could decorate pictures frame, bookmarks and participate in the anti-bullying # campaign.

Later that day everyone wore pink and went to the city of Willemstad to raise awareness. The local artist Ashley Mauricia also gave a wall in the city, so the participants can decorate it with motivational words and art.
